Location of Australian and New Zealand Netball fans on Twitter
Using the list of netball accounts found here, I got a list of all their followers. A program I have looks at their user locations and then compares the user inputted location to this list to determine the user’s city, state, country. Once this information was collected, all the accounts were put into a single list and duplicate users were removed. After that, the total number of Twitter followers by Australian and New Zealand cities was compiled. The results are viewable in the map below.
That’s a pretty good geographic spread and highlights that netball really is a women’s national game for New Zealand and Australia. Interest can be found in urban, suburban and rural areas.
