Nifty Twitter tool: TwapperKeeper
I found a really nifty Twitter tool. I don’t generally do content analysis but I figured it would be better to start getting data to have it than to want it later and not have it… The tool is Twapper Keeper. It allows you to archive all tweets based on hashtags and keyword searches. (I’m hoping I can then use this do to some sort of analysis or maybe compare the tweet location between followers and tweeters to see if the audiences are unique.) I spent most of the morning setting up a bunch of #hashtags to monitor related to the AFL and NRL. While noting that these tags were not all added at the same time, the table below gives an idea of the total uses of these hash tags over the past 7 to 10 hours.

What is interesting is that the popular teams are popular on Twitter too. Game day tags are pretty popular. The NRL and AFL are really close in terms of total number of tweets. (The difference could be accounted for by when each hash tag was added.)
